Hungary wants Ukrainian relations of mutual respect

Hungary has an interest in Ukraine’s development as a security country, Hungarian Foreign and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Facebook on Friday.

“This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Hungarian-Ukrainian diplomatic relations. Three decades ago, Hungary was among the first countries to recognize Ukraine’s independence, ”he said.

As a neighboring country, Hungary has always been interested in Ukraine’s security and development, Szijjártó said.

“In recent years, however, violations of the rights of the Hungarian ethnic community in Zakarpattia have had a very negative impact on bilateral relations. We would like the Hungarian-Ukrainian cooperation to be based on mutual respect again as soon as possible, ”Szijjártó said.
