NTPC will organize the Northeast Festival as part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”

As part of the celebration of the iconic “energy conservation” week under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” led by the Ministry of Energy from December 8 to 14, 2021, NTPC will organize the Northeast Festival in NTPC Bongaigaon, Assam. The celebration of the rich and indigenous culture of the northeast will take place on December 11-12 at NTPC Bongaigaon Outdoor Stadium.

The event will showcase the rich cultural diversity of the Northeastern states through a series of events that includes dance forms from all of the “Seven Sisters”. Ethnic fashion show, Bodo-language Kavi Sammelan and folk orchestra are some of the main attractions of the festival. The craft stalls and Ethnic Food Festival will also feature a plethora of choices serving Northeastern specialties on both days.

In the run-up to the festival, young engineering students from Assam, during the ongoing Energy Conservation Week celebrations, performed the street plays which were conducted in association with the NSS wing. of the Central Technology Wing (CIT), Kokrajhar. Students of various currents performed street plays in the bustling Salakati market district, Kokrajhar. The skit mainly focused on various aspects of energy conservation, including the role of NTPC in preserving and restoring natural resources. The street drama performed in the local language highlighted the main elements of energy conservation – Recycle, Reuse, Reinvent.

NTPC being a sustainable organization, has always been committed to initiatives such as water conservation, energy conservation, massive tree planting and corporate social responsibility.
