UP organizes a virtual conference to strengthen economic and trade relations with Japan

The government of Uttar Pradesh and the Indian Embassy in Japan on Tuesday held a virtual conference to boost economic and trade relations between Japan and UP. In addition, this decision was intended to promote the state’s exports.

Indian Ambassador to Japan Sanjay Verma; Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Export Promotion, Uttar Pradesh; C Rajasekhar, Special Duty Officer (OSD), State, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi; and Arvind Kumar, Commissioner for Infrastructure and Industrial Development, Uttar Pradesh; attended the meeting.

The different aspects of developing a specific export promotion strategy. Discussions were held to explore opportunities for bilateral trade between UP and Japan in areas such as handicrafts, food, electronics, garments, carpets, leather and ODOP products. India to Japan.

Navneet Sehgal discussed the manufacturing potential of Uttar Pradesh in all these sectors. He said these sectors are in line with market demand in Japan. The UP government is committed to promoting bilateral trade.

Sanjay Verma appreciated and commended the initiative of the UP government in this regard and assured the full cooperation of the government in its efforts to organize state-focused webinars and virtual meetings between buyers and sellers. Furthermore, he assured to extend his full cooperation to Uttar Pradesh by sending state delegations to Japan by the end of the year.

He suggested that certification and quality standards should be strictly followed by our exporters when exporting to Japan.

Citing the Groundbreaking Ceremony 3.0 held recently in the state, Arvind Kumar informed that the state government is determined to invite investments from countries across the world into the state.

Meanwhile, C Rajasekhar highlighted the need to provide support to MSMEs in their internationalization. He said the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) would assist the government of Uttar Pradesh in promoting exports through appropriate events such as roadshows and exhibitions focusing on trade and investment.

Officials from Uttar Pradesh Export Promotion Bureau, Uttar Pradesh Export Promotion Board and Exim Bank India were present on the occasion.
