Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan sign 23 bilateral documents

AKIPRESS.COM – The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan adopted a joint declaration within the framework of the official visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The joint statement given reflects the main outcomes of the high-level meeting, defines promising areas for further strengthening of the bilateral strategic partnership.

The documents signed between ministries and regions of two countries were exchanged in the presence of heads of state.

The countries signed the following documents:

– agreement on the creation and regulation of the Uzbek-Turkmen cross-border trade zone;

– agreement on increasing bilateral trade and expanding mutually beneficial partnership links between enterprises and enterprises;

– protocol on the organization of the exchange of advance information on goods and vehicles crossing the customs border;

– agreement on the simplification of visa procedures for the business community;

– protocol with additions to the agreement on reciprocal movements of citizens of November 19, 2004.

Documents were also signed on expanding cooperation in transport, transit transport, water-saving technologies, justice, social protection, statistics, quarantine and plant protection, science and culture.

A total of 23 agreements were signed on almost all areas of multi-faceted bilateral cooperation.
